Neediness describes a state of needing attention or affection. It is associated to an excessive or imbalanced reliance on others for emotional support, constantly seeking reassurance and validation. 

Intuitively speaking, the vice of neediness is closely associated with the vice of attention seeking and often times the person has both.

When working on neediness, it is important to work on the childish mental state, as these people are not self-sufficient and lack of proper independence. 

The right type of nurturing is the key for them to be able to become grownups and to rely more on themselves.

Once neediness is overcame, strength of character, ability to make decisions, planning for the future and being in service of others start to show up, transforming the person completely.
