The vice of ingratiation refers to a deliberate tactic used to gain favor or approval from another person, often through strategic behaviors like flattery, agreeing with their opinions, or doing them favors.

This vice is closely related to the vice of deceitfulness because the person who is ingratiating itself has a hidden agenda towards the other and seeks to benefit from them.

I have often seen, while intuitively reading the inner circle of many clients, that they have put someone very close to them who, from the Creator’s prospective, does not deserve to be there, but has infiltrated the inner circle by using the vices of deceitfulness and ingratiation.
