Gossiping means having a conversation or report about other people’s private lives behind their back and to say things that might be unkind, disapproving and not true.
The one who gossips, loses their karma points very quickly.

The true reason why people gossip is because they have a certain level of the vice of malice and they feed themselves on speaking negatively about others.
When they gossip, they feel superior and find amusement.

Partaking in gossiping is actually really sad, because it shows that the person didn’t learn:
Privacy, respectfulness, understanding, wisdom, pure intention, truth, discernment, honor, tolerance, acceptance, integrity, responsibility, noble heart, honesty, kindness and compassion. 

People who gossip are very often a magnet for fallen spirts (negative energies that manipulate people with many vices) and they are susceptible to becoming victims of manipulation.

When you gossip, you lose the respect and the trust of people who have many active virtues.
