There are different types of betrayal:

1) BETRAYAL IN THOUGHT AND DESIRE
People with this type of betrayal are planting a seed in their mind for a future action of betraying. 
When this thoughts and desires happen, a big crack opens in the auric field of that person, allowing foreign negative energies to enter their space and the number of karma points gets significantly reduced.

2) ACTUAL ACTION OF BETRAYING SOMEBODY

The actual action can refer to betrayal in a partner relationship, in work, amongst siblings, towards a friend, a family member and others.

This leads to important consequences:
- A significant decrease of support of angels and spirit guides
- When this person (the one who betrayed) will be reborn in another lifetime, the person that they have betrayed (the victim of betrayal) will be someone whom they will never be able to please even though they (the one who betrayed) will feel compelled to try very hard to do so.

For example: 
A parent that is expecting a lot from their child and the child feels compelled to please the parent, but never succeeds.

This makes the child feel not good enough, not respected and not loved.
This is the karma of that child that in another lifetime has betrayed the soul of their parent and now needs to make amends in this form.

As it’s clear from the example, the betraying karma lasts a long time and scars the person in a way that they will feel not good enough a big part of their life, trying to please and make happy the person they have betrayed.
